Top Ten: Road Rage

So many characters seemed to want a crash course in story-lining. Strangely, these scenes are often some of the best contenders for unintentional humour. Here are some of the most memorable.

Return to top of Page

1. Kathy Hall’s death (220)
One of the most infamous goofs in the series, where the stuntman's wig is seen flying off his head as he hits the ground!

2. Colleen's flying tramp (420)
Glorious example of an old man who not only switched to a fraction of his age and back again as he flew through the air, but also completely changed headgear and hair, all within three shots. Even more curious was the incredible way he got up and marched off, then was stone dead seconds later.

See also: Another hit and run - Helen Masters is brought into Wentworth, after being arrested for killing a child (008).

3. Pippa Reynolds' near miss (567)
Someone clearly didn't like the awful Pippa, driving their car loudly past her about six feet away, causing her to gracefully seat herself on the grassy bank. Apparently this was a rather unconvincing attempt to show her flying into the verge after a dangerously near hit-and-run attempt. Er, right.

4. Andrew Hinton's death (634)
Joan's golfing chum got flung over a car bonnet when baddies want to punish Joan. A more realistic stunt performance than most of them, but still bizarre that he just stood in the road watching the car approach, when he could have just stepped out of the way.

See also: Another suspicious ‘accident’ - we hear that Mrs Goddard (Jenny Hartley's Nana's housekeeper) had been killed in a hit-and-run incident (555).

5. Sally Dempster strikes out (316)
The intensely annoying vole like housewife, whose tendencies included child-beating, secret drinking, and questionable acting, drove her husband up the wall - almost literally - when she aimed the car straight at him.

6. Pops Milsom struck down (454)
Old man gets knocked down, and by amazing coincidence his daughter is good chums with a prison officer, and has quite a bit of dialogue to say. Oh dear, wonder where she'll end up..

7. Rachel Milsom gets revenge (457)
Drunk driver Trevor Priest was somehow found not guilty of manslaughter for Pops Milsom's death, so Rachel tried to give him a taste of his own medicine as he stepped out of the courthouse.

See also: More vehicle vengeance - Catherine Roberts ran over her daughter's rapist, reversing over him a couple of times for good measure (019).

8. Margo on the (hit and) run (307)
While on the run from Barnhurst, Margo was involved in a hit-and-run accident after stealing a car from - er, Meg.

9. Tracey Morris goes for a spin (153)
On leaving court, Tracey's lift back to prison turned out to be not quite what she expected. She and her policewoman escort were driven away with pointing of guns and lots of screeching of tyres.

See also: Another surprise journey - Frank Burke gets a lift with a woman, then pulls a gun on her (554).

10. Bobbie gets tractor rage (488)
Bobbie wanted to get revenge on slimy Nev Sloane for his blackmail attempts, by metamorphosising into a midget in a fright wig and driving a tractor into the shed.
