Prisoner (Cell Block H) was a ground-breaking soap opera from Australia, that ran from the late seventies to the mid eighties. Inspired by Within These Walls, and created by the man behind Crossroads, it might not seem like the best pedigree for a prime-time drama. However, the series addressed serious issues and produced some excellent writing and acting.
